Garment & Textile Care
Mold & Mildew Removal
for Clothing & Textiles
Florida humidity is hard on fabric. If you have opened a closet, a storage bin, or a shuttered house to find spotted, musty garments, do not throw them out yet. Bring them to us first.
The Cleaner Wellington Calls
Before Giving Up on a Garment
Mold and mildew on fabric is not the same problem as mold in a wall, and it does not need the same solution. Spotting, staining, and that unmistakable musty smell come from spores that have taken hold in the fibers, and they respond to the right cleaning process far more often than most people expect.
We look at each item individually, tell you honestly whether we think it can be saved, and treat it with the process best suited to that fabric. Cotton, wool, silk, down, leather, and suede all behave differently, and a method that rescues one can ruin another.

Closed-up seasonal homes, summer humidity, storm season, and long-term storage all create exactly the conditions mildew needs. It is one of the most common reasons garments arrive at our counter, and one of the most fixable.
An Honest Answer First
Some items come back beautifully. Some are too far gone, and we will tell you that rather than take your money and hand back a garment you will not wear. You get our assessment before we treat anything.
What We Do, and What We Don't
We treat items, not buildings. Clothing, comforters, linens, area rugs, leather, suede, and gowns affected by mold or mildew come to our facility and are cleaned here. That is the whole of what this service covers.
We are not a mold assessor or mold remediator, and we do not inspect, test, or treat homes. If you have mold on walls, ceilings, floors, ductwork, or in an HVAC system, Florida law requires a professional licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. You can verify any contractor's license through the DBPR license search.
If a remediation company is already working on your home, we are glad to take the textiles off their hands. Send the clothes, bedding, and rugs to us while they handle the structure.
What We Treat
Fabrics We Bring Back
From a single musty jacket to an entire closet after a season away
-
Clothing & Everyday Wear
Suits, dresses, shirts, jackets, and knitwear that have picked up spotting or a musty smell in a closet, a storage bin, or a house that sat closed for the summer.
-
Comforters, Linens & Rugs
Down and synthetic comforters, blankets, bed linens, and area rugs. Large household textiles hold moisture longest and are the items most often written off too early.
-
Leather, Suede & Gowns
Specialty pieces where the wrong process does permanent damage: leather and suede outerwear, handbags, boots, and wedding gowns that have discoloured in storage.

Non-toxic, biodegradable solutions that are gentle on fabrics and safe for your family and pets. We do not use Perchloroethylene (Perc) in our process.
-
Fabric-Specific Treatment
Down, wool, silk, leather, and suede each need a different approach. We match the process to the fiber instead of running everything through the same cycle and hoping.
-
Consistent Cleaning Schedule
Prefer not to think about it? Set a recurring weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly pickup and your garment care runs on autopilot. Ask us at the counter.
The Process
This is How We Work
Bring affected items to the counter or schedule a pickup. Seal them in a bag first so spores do not transfer to anything else on the way.
-
We Look at Each Item
Every affected piece is examined individually. We identify the fabric, judge how far the mildew has set into the fibers, and tell you what we think is realistic before any treatment begins.
-
We Treat It for the Fabric
Each item is cleaned using the method suited to that material, targeting both the visible spotting and the musty odor that lingers in fibers long after the marks are gone.
-
You Get It Back Wearable
Items are pressed, packaged, and returned to the counter or your door. We will also tell you how to store them so the same thing does not happen next season.
Common Questions
Mold & Mildew on Fabric
What customers ask before bringing items in
Often, yes. It depends on the fabric, how long the item sat, and how deeply the staining has set. Lightly affected garments usually come back well. Items that have been damp for months, or where the fibers themselves have broken down, may not. We will give you our honest read before we treat anything.
That odor is usually what people notice first and what bothers them longest. It sits in the fibers rather than on the surface, so it needs the cleaning process to address it, not a spray. Treating the odor is part of the job, not an add-on.
No. We clean garments and household textiles only. Mold on walls, ceilings, floors, or ductwork requires a professional licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and that is a different service from ours. We are happy to handle the fabrics while a licensed remediator handles the structure.
Seal them in a bag before you transport them, and keep them separate from unaffected clothing. Do not attempt to brush spotting off indoors first. Let us know at check-in that the items are mildewed so we can keep them apart from other orders.
Very. It is one of the most common reasons items reach us. A Wellington home shut up through the summer, a storage unit, or a closet on an exterior wall will all hold enough humidity to affect fabric. Returning seasonal residents are a large share of the mildewed items we see.
Store items clean and fully dry, use breathable garment bags rather than sealed plastic, leave air space between pieces, and keep storage away from exterior walls where condensation forms. For gowns and heirloom pieces, ask us about proper preservation.
